Rosh Hashanah Fair

This years annual Rosh Hashana Carnival proved to be the most successful ever, with the spectacularly decorated room and the vast array of activities. As soon as the children entered the room, the tone was set for the day of excitement, fun and Jewish spirit. There were crafts for all ages, varying from decorating and painting honey jars, clay making of honey dishes, magnificent sequined apple decorations and Yom Kippur slipper making. There was the holiday smells in the air- quite literally, with the cooking and baking activities which the kids loved. From honey biscuits, to round traditional style challah baking, cake decorating, and toffee apples, the children really got a taste for the festivals traditions! The main highlight of the fair was of course the many carnival activities. The sounds of laughter and excitement resonated throughout the room as the children ran from one booth to the next, each activity conveying a special message to the children pertaining to the upcoming Jewish holidays. The day ended with a grand debut performance from the Junior Hebrew High band!
